Christmas 2012

For Christmas we went to see the Tappen Grandparents in Pueblo, Colorado. Geneva was serene as usual. She didn't get excited by presents, and in fact got a bit scared by the sounds of paper ripping... She was cute and happy most of the time, though. We had Christmas alone with the grandparents and then two sisters came in after Christmas, bringing the kid count up to 8! I didn't take any pictures with them unfortunately, probably because it was a little crazy. We had a really nice time, but I have a feeling everyone was more excited to see Geneva than us... it's ok though, how could you not feel that way?
With Grandma, wearing her Christmas outfit. We had to add the headband so she looked like a girl.
We had a white Christmas! We got a light dusting of snow overnight that mostly melted by the afternoon.
Mini Santa!
Trying to open a present with Daddy.
Stocking stuffers for parents. Henry's mom always says "Hello Luscious" when she gets KitKats, so it was worth it to get them just for that reaction.
Geneva in her pajamas. I just love her little face!
Geneva with her baby ornament. Look at those eyelashes!
Henry's favorite present. This is his Superman cape that he used to wear all the time as a little boy. He even wore it in one of his school pictures (when I find it I will put it up here!).
Geneva's new favorite book - Introductory Calculus for Infants
Out for a walk. Don't be deceived by the sunshine, it was freezing (as evidenced by the un-melted snow I guess).
Tasty Christmas dinner
These roasted brussels sprouts were amazing! Made with almonds, raisins,  and butter.
Here is a non-Colorado picture of Geneva with our Christmas tree.
Geneva with Santa. She wasn't worried or scared at all!
Geneva with her only toy she got for Christmas, a block set from her cousin. She loves it! Next year maybe she'll be on the NICE list and Santa will bring her some presents :)

5 months

Geneva is 5 months now! Not too much new this month, but she loves blowing raspberries and drooling/spitting. She is still calm and content and sleeping through the night (knock on wood). She's our little angel. Ok and now for the pictures/videos.

Halloween at our parent-baby group at the hospital.
Geneva is the skeleton being attacked by/attacking the giraffes.
Here is a video of the 3-6 month babies positioned for their photo op. It was so hilarious seeing them all wiggling and squirming! And there was almost no crying! I think they were all too confused by the costumes and all the flash photography.

Taking a nap with daddy

In her snow suit getting ready for a walk!

Tummy-to-tummy time

The flash is a little weird on Geneva's face, but the drool/spit-up down her shirt was too amazing to pass up.
We love making her walk. It's just funny imagining a tiny baby like her walking around.

Wearing an antique dress from her great grandma Marion.

Fell asleep while holding her toy.

Matching with Helena at church. Geneva is 2 months older, but they are now about the same size!

She loves to stand!

So many toys! Ah!

Dressed as Santa for a Saturday night date.

4 months

Geneva is growing so much! She is now 13 lbs 5.5 oz (25-50%) and 24.5 inches long (50-75%). She is a generally happy baby and she loves kicking her legs. She started rolling over consistently last week, right AFTER her 4 month doctor appointment of course. She has a golden smile and a screechy laugh, a little bit of light brown/dark blonde hair, and scrumptious leg rolls.

The first time her hair was sticking up
Pretty girl, always playing with her hands
Drool
Turning on her side to look in the mirror in her room
With mommy! I thought it would be good to get some of us together.  Thank goodness for arm shots.

Bath time. She just kicks her legs like a psycho when she gets in. I'm not sure I'd call it happy kicking, more just "what the heck is going on" kicking.
She started holding on to the bar whenever we'd put her in this rocker.
Why is it that these little things are just the cutest thing ever to new parents?

Eating her hand. So tasty!

Playing Xbox with Helena

All bundled and ready to go on a walk!

Still got it

Henry's still rapping (most famous rap found here), but these days his freestyle raps are usually aimed at a bit of a younger audience. I happened to catch this one on video last night so I thought I'd share. It makes me smile every time. Enjoy!
